You don't have to leave campus for routine x-rays. UHS can perform a wide variety of diagnostic tests including contrast studies to detect urinary tract abnormalities.
To get an x-ray, you need an order from a healthcare provider. If a UHS provider asks you to get an x-ray, he or she will give you instructions, including how to prepare, if necessary.
Charges apply for x-rays.
Off-campus healthcare providers can give you a written order for an x-ray or they can call or fax orders to the UHS Radiology department. Results will be sent to the provider who ordered them, so be sure to have the correct spelling of your doctor's name and their current address, phone number, and fax number.
Orders from off-campus providers should include the date, x-ray specifications, medical history pertinent to your illness or injury, and the physician's signature.
Unless you need a contrast study, you don't need to schedule an appointment. If your physician calls or faxes orders to us, call before you come in to make sure we have received them.
UHS does not provide MRIs, CAT scans, ultrasounds, bone scans, or mammograms. However, we can refer you to nearby facilities.
