Because of concerns about H1N1 influenza (Swine Flu), the Nurse Advice Line is experiencing a high volume of calls, and hold times may be longer than usual. So that our nurses can help ill and injured students in the timeliest manner, please do not call the Nurse Advice Line if you just have a general question or concern about influenza. Instead, click the link below where most of your questions can be answered.

Flu on Campus

Call the UHS Nurse Advice Line at
(512) 475-6877 if you have these influenza-like symptoms:

  • Fever higher than 100° F plus a cough and/or sore throat
  • Body aches
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea

The UHS Nurse Advice Line is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Call for advice on how to care for an illness or injury at home or guidance about whether and when to see a healthcare provider.

The Nurse Advice Line is available only to students at the University of Texas at Austin who are currently taking classes or who were enrolled for the immediately preceding semester.

For severe or potentially life-threatening medical or mental health emergencies, call 911 or go to a local hospital emergency room.
