Staff
Campus Carry
The concealed carry of handguns is prohibited in patient care areas at UT Austin, including those areas in which professional mental health services are provided. Because a significant majority of the Student Services Building (SSB) is devoted to patient care, the entire building is exempt from the concealed carry of handguns.
Accreditation
Accreditation is a process that University Health Services (UHS) and the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) use to maintain and improve the quality of care provided to students. Both facilities undergo regular evaluations by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) to ensure compliance with rigorous standards. Additionally, UHS holds accreditation from other designated organizations and is an institutional member of the American College Health Association (ACHA).
These accreditations demonstrate our commitment to high-quality clinical care, patient safety, and continuous improvement. To learn more about UHS’s accrediting organizations, please visit the About UHS page.
