About University Health Services
University Health Services (UHS) is UT Austin’s on-campus healthcare provider for students, with select services available to faculty and staff.
As a public health leader for the university, UHS also provides vaccination clinics, communicable disease response and other services that help protect the health of the campus community.
UHS is part of Healthyhorns, which also includes the Counseling and Mental Health Center and Longhorn Wellness Center. Healthyhorns is part of Health and Well-being (HWB).
Facility
UHS occupies more than 45,000 square feet across the first and second floors and parts of the third floor of the Student Services Building. View Student Services Building floor maps.
The facility also includes a lactation/quiet room.
Staff
Campus Carry
The concealed carry of handguns is prohibited in patient care areas at UT Austin, including those areas in which professional mental health services are provided. Because a significant majority of the Student Services Building (SSB) is devoted to patient care, the entire building is exempt from the concealed carry of handguns.
Accreditation
Accreditation is a process through which UHS ensures and improves the quality of care provided to patients. Representatives from designated organizations regularly inspect UHS facilities, in some cases without advance notice. UHS must meet standards and pass each inspection with a certain grade to earn accreditation. UHS is also an institutional member of the American College Health Association (ACHA).
