Services Provided
In the UHS Gynecology Clinic, our physician’s assistant, certified nurse practitioners and registered nurses provide care by appointment. Welcoming any students with a need for gynecologic care.
- Routine annual wellness exams
- Contraception advice, prescriptions and administration (pill, shot, ring, IUD, implant, diaphragm, emergency contraception)
- Care for menstrual concerns (cramps, irregular bleeding, PMS, other related problems)
- Abnormal pap evaluations, including colposcopies
- Pregnancy testing and referrals
- Breast and chest health assessments
- STI testing and treatment
- Initial PrEP visits
- Evaluation and treatment of other common gynecological health concerns including vaginal infections and urinary tract infections
- Assistance with accessing Sexual Assault Medical Care and Forensic Evidence Collection.
STI Screening and Testing at the Gynecology Clinic
We offer both scheduled appointments and walk-in services for STI screening, testing, and if needed, treatment. Patients meet with a registered nurse who has specialized training in STI screening and sexual health. To learn more about your options, visit the STI Testing page.

Sexual Health Resources
The clinic, along with the Longhorn Wellness Center, offers a range of sexual health resources, including a welcoming space for questions and discussion, educational materials and workshops, and free supplies.
Students can also access our library of educational resources to learn about various sexually transmitted infections (STIs). These health topics and patient education materials provide reliable information to help students make informed decisions about their sexual health.
Sensitive Health Exams and Procedures
UHS utilizes chaperones for all sensitive physical examinations, including breast, genital, rectum and adjacent areas, and sensitive ultrasounds. Patients can request a chaperone at any time. For more information view the Patient Guide to Sensitive Health Exams (PDF).
On-Time Arrival for Appointments
Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for check-in. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to a scheduled appointment, your appointment will be rescheduled and you may be charged a $25 late fee.
