For Faculty and Staff
If a student is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
See Medical Emergencies and After-Hours Care for information on what to do in emergencies and when UHS is closed.
UHS is committed to working with you to support our students. Here are key web pages that students can reference.
- MyUHS/CMHC portal
- Services
- Schedule Your Appointment
- Billing and Insurance
- Contact Information
- Location and Parking
- Pharmacy Resources
- Health Topics
Students can also call the 24/7 Nurse Advice Line at 512-475-6877 for advice on how to care for an illness or injury at home or to receive guidance about whether or how soon they should see a healthcare provider.
Additionally, you can request a UHS staff member to visit your class or meeting to deliver a presentation about UHS, the Counseling and Mental Health Center and Longhorn Wellness Center.
Appointment Verification Letter
If your student has been seen by healthcare providers at UHS, they can request a visit verification letter if needed. Please remind them of this option if it's necessary.
Doctor’s Notes / Written Excuses
Consistent with American College Health Association recommendations and the policies of our peer institutions, University Health Services (UHS) does not provide doctor’s notes or written excuses for students who miss classes or assignments due to a short-term illness or an injury. See a copy of our Director’s Letter.
