Services Provided

Providing care to students with sports injuries, acute musculoskeletal pain and fractures. Our two certified sports medicine physicians provide expertise in orthopedic diagnosis, treatment and care. Our goal is to get you back to the lifestyle and activities you enjoy as quickly as possible.

Common sports medicine conditions treated are:

  • Fractures (splinting/casting)
  • Sprains/strains
  • Ligament and tendon injuries
  • Tendonitis and bursitis/overuse injuries
  • Stress fractures
  • Neck and back pain
  • Shoulder injuries/dislocation and pain
  • Elbow injuries/dislocation and pain
  • Wrist, hand and finger injuries/dislocation and pain
  • Ganglion cysts
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Hip injuries and pain
  • Knee injuries and pain
  • Ankle, foot and toe injuries/dislocation and pain
  • Plantar fasciitis of the foot

The Sports Medicine Clinic has x-ray capabilities onsite as well as physical therapy.

Sports Physicals

Additionally, sports physicals are offered for intramural sports, club sports, NCAA sports, non-NCAA sports, scuba diving, ROTC programs, Texas 4000 for Cancer and other activities that require a pre-participation physical exam. Learn more about clearance visits.

Access loaner wheelchairs through Student Emergency Services. Make your reservation by contacting Student Outreach and Support (SOS) at 512-471-5017, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
