Getting a flu shot is more important than ever. It can protect you and your fellow Longhorns and can prevent flu-related complications from using valuable medical resources needed by those with COVID-19 – a not yet vaccine-preventable illness.
Unfortunately, UHS cannot provide shots to UT retirees this year. We ask retirees to schedule a flu shot elsewhere. Employees with UT Select health insurance can also get a flu shot at any participating pharmacy or provider.
If you have not read about the type of flu vaccine UHS administers, charges and payment, continue reading. Otherwise, schedule your flu shot now.

UHS provides quadrivalent, preservative (thimerosal)-free, latex-free flu vaccine. UHS does not administer either vaccines made specifically for people age 65 and older. We ask those with allergies to eggs or those who have had a severe reaction to a prior flu shot to get their flu shot from their healthcare provider. You can contact the Forty Acres Pharmacy to ask about flu vaccine for those age 65 and older or with an egg allergy.
