Update: The Get Yourself Tested Fund is currently closed indefinitely due to low funds. Any information about the fund reopening will be posted on this page. Find free and low-cost testing resources in the Austin area.
Any enrolled UT student is eligible to apply for the GYT Fund, regardless of insurance status. The fund covers all STI testing done at UHS, including any confirmatory testing and the $10 patient responsibility for the UHS office visit.
Students may only use the GYT Fund once per semester, and will still be charged the standard $25 missed appointment fee if they schedule an appointment but do not show up. Students must make an appointment at the UHS STI Clinic within two weeks of receiving their acceptance.
Students may only use the GYT Fund for appointments made solely for STI testing in the STI Clinic. The fund does not cover STI testing undertaken during annual sexual health exams or other UHS appointments.
The GYT Fund is only available for asymptomatic students. If you are experiencing symptoms that you think are caused by an STI, you may still get tested and receive treatment at UHS using a standard UHS payment option. If you cannot afford to be tested at UHS, consider visiting one of the free and low-cost STI testing centers in Austin.
Students are responsible for any treatment costs, including prescriptions. The GYT Fund only funds testing.

Both the application process and use of the GYT Fund is confidential. Your use of the GYT Fund will not be attached to your medical record.
Testing at UHS is completely confidential and your results will never be attached to your academic record. If you are 18 years or older, UHS is also prohibited by federal law from sharing your medical records with anyone, even if they pay for your tuition or other expenses. You can read more about patient confidentiality here.
