UPDATE: Testing is now guaranteed only for those with appointments. Signs at testing sites will indicate whether walk-ups are being accepted at the time. Due to demand and test processing capacity, this change is in effect until further notice.

Please follow these steps when scheduling for COVID-19 Proactive Community Testing:

  1. Log into the MyUHS web portal
  2. Click on Profile to ensure we have the best phone number to reach you as well as your local address. If you do not verify your preferred number, we will call the number on file when needing to contact you, which may be your parent's number.
  3. If this is your first time scheduling an appointment since June 22, 2020:
    • Select Medical Clearances from the menu and sign the UHS Consent to Treat.
    • Select Health History from the menu, then click “DONE” or “Looks Good.”
  4. Click on Appointments in the left navigation menu and then click on the Schedule an Appointment button.
  5. Select your current status at the University of Texas.
    • UT FACULTY/STAFF – Select the option to schedule Proactive Community Testing and follow the prompts to schedule
    • UT Students
      • Follow prompts regarding your insurance status
      • When prompted select “I want an appointment for a COVID-19 test or COVID-19 concern.”
      • Then select "I do NOT have symptoms of COVID-19. I just want a COVID-19 test (including Proactive Community Testing)"
      • Follow the prompts to schedule.
    • Then select the option to schedule Proactive Community Testing
  6. Save a screenshot of your appointment QR code or access it via the portal as you enter the clinic.
  7. Use the Protect Texas Together App to complete the Symptom Survey on the day of your appointment and obtain your Campus Pass to show upon arrival at the site. IMPORTANT: If your campus access is denied solely because you answered “Yes” to “Have you had recent close contact with someone known or suspected to have COVID-19,” go to your PCT appointment and explain that this is the only reason you were denied access. Staff will allow you to be tested.
  8. Also, click on the PCT tile in the Protect Texas Together App to consent within 48 hours of testing.

For information on qualifying criteria, schedule, locations and what to expect on the day of the test, visit the Proactive Community Testing page.

UHS has implemented telemedicine visits to enhance student and campus safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telehealth visits utilize Zoom with enhanced features that make it compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), so please be prepared to have a video meeting with your provider. Many telehealth visits can be scheduled online, but not all. For your safety there are times you will need to call to speak with a staff member for an appointment.
