Healthyhorns Staff Honored with 2025 Service Awards for Their Dedication to The University of Texas at Austin

Each year, The University of Texas at Austin honors staff members who have reached key service milestones through the President’s Staff Service Awards. In 2025, Healthyhorns proudly celebrates five exceptional team members for their years of dedication and impact: Michelle Rivera, Dave Laczko, Ben Lara, Dr. Robin Merket and Vicki Solis.
Congratulations to these Healthyhorns staff members for their combined 105 years of dedicated service to the students of UT Austin. Your passion, expertise and years of service continue to create a healthier and more supportive campus community for all Longhorns.
Michelle Rivera – 25 Years
Assistant to the Executive Director & Senior Associate Director, CMHC
Michelle plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Counseling and Mental Health Center, coordinating leadership schedules, planning events and supervising student staff.
One of her proudest moments was receiving a 2015–2016 Staff Merit Award from Texas Parents.

Dave Laczko – 20 Years
Medical Records Specialist, Healthyhorns
Dave ensures patient records are processed, organized and maintained with accuracy and confidentiality.
“Even as the student population changes, the care they receive remains consistent. It’s rewarding to help students get what they need when they walk in the door.”
Ben Lara – 20 Years
Assistant Director, Healthyhorns Materials Management
Ben manages purchasing, contracting and logistics for University Health Services and CMHC, ensuring operations run smoothly.
He’s especially proud of his role during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping secure UT’s first 200 vaccine doses and setting up storage freezers.

Vicki Solis – 20 Years
Medical Assistant, UHS General Medicine Clinic
Vicki supports clinical operations, patient care and education, working alongside an incredible team of providers.
“The sincerity of this team is unmatched. I’ve made lifelong friends and learned so much from the diverse students we serve.”
