Most clinical services require an initial assessment with a member of the Brief Assessment and Referral Team, who will also assist with appointment scheduling. Assessments can be completed by phone or in person.

Appointment Types That Must Be Scheduled by Phone or In-Person

The following appointments require an initial assessment with the Brief Assessment and Referral Team (BART), by phone or in person. Call 512-471-3515 or visit the Student Services Building, 100 West Dean Keeton Street, 5th Floor.

  • Clinical Case Management
  • Mindful Eating Team
  • Psychiatry Services and Medication Management
  • Select Counseling Groups
  • Short-Term Individual Counseling
  • Substance Use Support Team
  • Voices Against Violence Clinical Services

The following appointment does not require an initial assessment with Brief Assessment and Referral Team (BART) and can be scheduled online or in-person:

  • Single-session counseling appointments at the CMHC @ WCP (at this location only)

Where You’ll Get Email and Portal Messages From CMHC

As a student, most communication from CMHC is sent through your MyUHS/CMHC portal. Some messages, such as appointment reminders or notifications about new secure messages, may also be sent by email. All CMHC emails are delivered to your official UT student email address ([eid]@my.utexas.edu). You cannot change or replace this email address in the portal.
