Practicum Training Program

The Practicum Training Program at the Counseling and Mental Health Center at UT Austin is designed to provide students in the counseling and clinical psychology doctoral programs at UT Austin with a focused and intensive experience in various clinical modalities, including providing individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and behavioral health interventions to university students. The Practicum Training Program consists of the Counseling Practicum (located on the 5th floor of the SSB), Assessment Practicum, Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Practicum and the Integrated Health (IH) Practicum. CMHC staff who lead or provide seminars within the CMHC training programs have joint faculty appointments within the College of Education and Steve Hicks School of Social Work.
