Niki Luibrand (pronouns: she/her) is a Counselor within the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in academic offices to facilitate students' academic and life goals. She provides clinical services in the College of Fine Arts. Niki is available to provide consultation to staff as well as outreach and prevention services.
Niki brings a relational approach to her work with students with the goal of helping them navigate life challenges and connect to their own internal and external resources. Her areas of professional interest include mindfulness, healing from trauma and grief, perinatal mental health, healthy boundaries, depression, anxiety and identity concerns. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
CARE Clinical Services
- Students may be referred by a staff or faculty member and may also self-refer by contacting Niki directly.
- Niki is available to discuss students’ needs and offer appropriate services (e.g. short-term counseling, referral services, crisis intervention, and groups).
Trainings and Workshops
- Offered to students and staff
- Topics vary (e.g. self-care, test anxiety, mindfulness, assisting students in distress, self-compassion and setting healthy boundaries)
