Abby Simpson (pronouns: she/her) is a Counselor in the Counselors in Academic Residence (CARE) Program, a program that provides mental health services in the Moody College of Communication. Abby supports Moody College students by offering individual, group, crisis, and outreach services. Abby seeks to help students reach both their academic and personal goals. Abby is also available to provide consultation to staff and faculty about student concerns.
Abby has specialized training and experience in helping to cultivate healthy relationships, trauma-related disorders, and challenging destructive perfectionism. Abby encourages students of all identities to reach out to her for support that is culturally competent, inclusive, and trauma-informed. Whether a student is wanting in-person or virtual counseling, Abby looks forward to providing all students with help that is caring, authentic and hopeful.
CARE Clinical Services
- Students may be referred by a staff or faculty member. They may also self-refer by calling or coming by during office hours to chat about services.
- Abby is available to discuss students’ needs and offer appropriate services (e.g. short-term counseling, referral services, crisis intervention, and groups)
