Foundations of Stress Management

Offered each fall and spring term

Throughout this mindful UT course, students will explore the science of stress and how it impacts health, the history and benefits of mindfulness and engage with different stress management practices each week.

Wellness 101 CNS Honors Seminar

Offered each fall and spring term

In this seminar for CNS Honors students, students will learn strategies for cultivating and maintaining positive mental health and well-being in college and beyond, as well as ways to approach and help peers and colleagues struggling with related issues.

Theatre for Dialogue

2 semester course sequence

T D 357T.3, T D 387D, WGS 345, SSW 360

This course examines the use of art to cultivate community. Students will earn to use theatre and performance to facilitate dialogue and create spaces for meaningful interaction. In the second semester, participants will create an interactive, community-engaged performance.

Longhorn Wellness Peer Educators

3 semester course sequence

HED 3781, HED 178G, HED 178J

Students enrolled in the Longhorn Wellness Peer Educator course sequence learn about a variety of health topics and health promotion strategies for college students. Peer educators deliver workshops, represent the LWC at campus events and develop public health initiatives and projects.

Longhorn SHARE Project

3 semester course sequence

HED 370K, HED 178E, HED 178F

Students enrolled in the Longhorn SHARE Project course sequence begin with learning the foundations of peer support including active listening, motivational interviewing, group facilitation and more. In the following two semesters, students facilitate peer support activities including supportive groups and individual conversations.

Applications open to become a SHARE Support Specialist each fall term.
