Get Involved with the Longhorn Wellness Center

The Longhorn Wellness Center offers opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved in campus health promotion through our peer education and support programs, student organizations, various leadership opportunities, employment and internships. Check out the options below to learn more and find the right fit for you.

Longhorn Wellness Peer Educators
Peer educators develop leadership skills through a three-semester sequence of academic courses and hands-on experience promoting campus health and wellness. They lead workshops, represent the Longhorn Wellness Center at events on campus and empower UT students to make informed decisions about their well-being. Recruitment for new peer educators occurs in February and March.

Voices Against Violence Student Organization
This student group is a survivor-centered community that is passionate about ending violence and creating a campus culture that values consent and healthy relationships. They strive to make violence prevention accessible to everyone by supporting each other, learning together and planning university-wide events. Students can join at any time.

Longhorn Wellness Center Employment and Internships
Student assistants, graduate assistants and interns provide support for general LWC programming, including the development, implementation and evaluation of our programs. To see openings and apply, view our website or search roles on Handshake.com. Positions are generally open for the academic year.

Longhorn SHARE Project
This program focuses on peer support, social connection and mental health. Students can join SHARE Communities - weekly peer-led groups - or the Longhorn SHARE Connections student organization, which promotes community care and reduces stigma on campus. The SHARE Supporter application is open each October, and cohorts learn communication skills, group facilitation and Mental Health First Aid in a three-semester sequence of academic courses.
