Well-being for Student Organizations

students receovong award

Program Overview

This is a new program for registered and sponsored student organizations who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of their organization and members. Well-being for Student Organizations is an adaptation from two previous programs in the Longhorn Wellness Center, the Healthy Student Organization Program and Mental Health Ambassadors.

The Well-being for Student Organizations program is an opportunity for student organizations to take meaningful steps toward supporting their members’ well-being and creating an environment where everyone can thrive. This program offers the tools to support student organizations in reflecting on their current practices and strengthen how they promote health and well-being in their groups. It is designed to help organizations build healthier communities by:

  • Improving and implementing well-being practices
  • Fostering stronger connections
  • Accessing campus health and well-being resources

What the Program Offers

Group Action Planner

A tool designed to help student organizations assess their current practices, set well-being goals and create a plan to achieve them.

On-going Consultation and Support

Support as organizations explore their unique needs, set goals and identify activities to promote member well-being.

Access to Resources

The program will offer opportunities to receive support for your organization’s health and well-being initiatives.

Recognition for Participation

Organizations have the opportunity to receive an award through the Pillars of the Forty Acres and be recognized at the Evening of the Stars ceremony for their efforts towards fostering a culture of well-being among their members.

How it Works

  1. A leader from your organization completes a brief enrollment form anytime during the calendar year.
  2. A Longhorn Wellness Center staff member reaches out to set-up a guided conversation.
  3. Your group explores ways to incorporate health and well-being practices into your organization’s culture.
  4. Your group receives ongoing support from fellow student organizations in the program and the Longhorn Wellness Center.
  5. Your group can apply to receive an award at the end of the spring semester for participation.
