Quick Mindful Check-ins and Brain Breaks for Students
This guide provides faculty and staff with simple and quick methods for supporting students’ mental health. The activities are designed to help build community, incorporate mindfulness, build motivation and practice compassion. The guide is intended to provide very short activities that can be incorporated anytime during class or when working with students.
Quick Response Card
At the suggestion of Mevin Hooten, a professor in the statistics and data sciences department, we created a Quick Response Card to support faculty and staff in identifying and supporting students in distress. The front side shows different levels of distress and lists specific resources for supporting a student based on the observed distress level. The back side provides a list of mental health support resources. Visit this page to see the information from the card and to request physical copies of the card to be campus mailed to you.
