UHS' Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

University Health Services is committed to using technology in thoughtful and responsible ways that support patient care.

UHS may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist healthcare providers with certain administrative and clinical support tasks. At this time, the primary use of AI is to help providers organize and draft clinical documentation, such as visit notes, so they can spend more time focused on patient care and conversation during appointments.

AI tools are used only to support your healthcare provider. All medical decisions are made by your clinician.

If AI-supported documentation tools are used during your appointment, your provider will ask for your verbal consent before using the technology.

As technology continues to evolve, UHS may consider using additional AI-supported tools in similar ways to enhance patient care.

If you have questions about the use of AI at UHS, please ask your healthcare provider.
