What is the UHS Clinic Volunteer Program?

The UHS Clinic Volunteer Program offers currently enrolled UT Austin students an opportunity for clinical experience in the University Health Services Clinics. UHS opens the window to accept new applications each year during February. Candidate applications are screened and selected candidates are invited to be interviewed. Candidates who are offered volunteer positions start their position the following fall semester. Volunteer positions last for two long semesters (fall & spring).

Requirements

  • All new and returning volunteers are required to attend an onsite half-day mandatory orientation on Aug. 21, 2026.
  • New volunteers who are unable to attend the mandatory orientation will be dropped from the program.
  • Clinic volunteers must commit to at least four hours per week (fall & spring semesters).
  • All volunteers must display regular attendance.
  • All volunteers must display professional conduct.

Department-Specific Duties

Which clinic is the best fit for you?

If you prefer an experience where you work independently, are self-motivated and organized, the Primary Care lab duties might be a good fit for you.
