Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) provides an essential link between University Health Services, the Counseling and Mental Health Center and the UT student body.

SHAC members also serve as ambassadors for the entire Healthyhorns umbrella of departments, which includes University Health Services, the Counseling and Mental Health Center and Longhorn Wellness Center. Members help to promote services, initiatives and participate actively in departmental events.

During general meetings and subcommittee meetings, members work on student-led projects, plan campus-wide events, hear from Healthyhorns guest speakers and provide feedback on a variety of health-related initiatives. SHAC offers members an opportunity to engage in a range of leadership and volunteer opportunities throughout the semester.

SHAC is made up of members selected through an application and interview process. The diverse membership includes undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds, interests and majors.
