In-Network Insurance Plans
What does in-network mean?
To control costs, health insurance plans contract with healthcare providers and facilities to provide a “network” of services at established rates. It typically costs less to go to an in-network provider or facility than to an out-of-network one.
The following plans are considered in-network with University Health Services:
AETNA
- Aetna Signature Administrators PPO
- Choice POS II
- Managed Choice POS
- Open Access Managed Choice EPO
- Open Choice PPO
Also: Meritain Health and WebTPA plans that utilize the Aetna Signature Administrators PPO or Choice POS II provider networks.

If you have a non-Texas Blue Cross Blue Shield or Anthem plan and have not yet utilized medical services outside your home state, we recommend confirming your coverage in Texas directly with the member services phone number listed on your insurance card, as some plans may have reduced benefits in our service area.

*Please note: Some insurance plans have tiered provider networks, and we cannot guarantee that University Health Services is included in your highest tier. Contact your health plan directly if you have any questions about your coverage.
If you’d like to confirm specific member benefits (e.g., what your plan covers), call your health plan’s member services using the phone number listed on your insurance card. When you call, reference the UHS Tax ID: 746000203.
To ensure your insurance claims are filed correctly, please update or confirm your insurance information in your MyUHS/CMHC portal under Insurance Details. If your current insurance information appears under “Submitted Insurance Requests” or is already a verified insurance, there is no need to resubmit.
